Why Is Astral Projection So Hard

This is a wonderful writeup from the Astral Voyage website. The direct link to the write up is here.

If you\’re wondering why Astral Projection is so hard, you are not alone. You must be thinking, \”If this was so natural, why do we struggle so?!\” I tell people it IS natural. How can it not be? You are not your body, you are your soul. So to travel about and experience that condition is no more unnatural than sleeping. But why is it so hard then?

It is difficult because of our self-inflicted concepts and lifestyles. This starts at the society level, and then works its way down to us at a personal level. If you review your typical life (American or otherwise), during our most formative years, we are taught how to socially behave, left brained topics like math and science (with art as an \”elective\”), fear based religion, and physical survival. We dismiss all metaphysical things with great vehemence and skepticism. Then, after our formative years, we plunge into the electronic and physical lifestyles, which leads us even farther away from inner self. Everything from cell phones, beepers, televisions, traffic, jobs, and surface relationships keep us from seeking inner truths. I just got an e-mail this week from a 14 year old that had her dream journal taken away from her at her religious school because it was a \”sin\”! How a dream journal (keeping records of soul and astral activity) can be a sin, boggles my mind. It is no surprise to me that we can\’t project! Instead, it\’s a miracle any of us can project at all! But then again, is this surprising since this type of oppression goes back even before the Christians imprisoned Galileo for promoting the simple theory that the earth goes round the sun and not vice-versa? Ignorance, established and held by fear, means control to the controllers and as long as we stay ignorant and let fear rule us, our growth will be stunted in this area as well as all others.

So here we are, conditioned and programmed to be the worst astral projectors possible. We\’re ignorant and afraid. Will we ever be able to flex these astral muscles? How do we undo this?

It is my opinion, that with our current pace and attitude of life, this is not possible to any great degree for the general public. It will always be a struggle, and it will take extraordinary efforts to master this natural ability. However, I strongly believe, as with all things, we have yet to uncover an astral projection AID (or tool) that will help us all. This was the purpose of my Science page. We already have tools for projection (hemi-sync, meditation tapes, herbs, etc.) but if any of these worked with great success, we\’d all be projecting. You can go to the Monroe Institute for one week (for a hefty sum of $1,600.00) and probably project, as you\’re in a sealed, soundproof booth for days on end, with hemi-sync playing till all hours. But what happens when you get home and are back to your daily life? Probably nothing! No, the tools we need are yet to be discovered. Of all my years of research and projection, there is one fundamental truth that I think is an important clue, and that is that our physical body has a magnetic hold on the astral body. Only through intense meditation, illness, mastery of the body asleep/mind awake state, assorted deprivation, do we reduce the magnetic pull enough to allow for separation.

Take care,

Anne

She has really hit the nail on the head. These are the conditions we must struggle against to pursue this skill. It\’s not an easy road, by any stretch of the imagination… and it\’s a road not heavily traveled either, but in the end, it\’s definitely a journey worth taking if you\’re interested. 🙂

The Physical is an Astral Environment

I\’ve been thinking lately… what if this physical reality we hold so dear as being a solid reality is ACTUALLY just a non-physical reality? Through Quantum Physics, humanity is already starting to get a glimpse that our world is actually made up of probabilities.

In the non-physical what we think becomes reality, any stray thought that comes to mind will instantly come into being in full technicolour 3D right in front of your non-physical eyes. Now, what if I said that this also happens here in the Physical as well?

Take instances of hauntings where items are flung around the room… is that some outside force doing the flinging or is it the person in the room doing the flinging and not realizing that their subconscious thoughts are initiating this reaction?
What about supposed miracles that happen throughout the world? People with Terminal Diseases suddenly and for inexplicable reasons being cured permanently. Is this really a miracle? Or the person healing themselves by subconsciously desiring AND believing it.
And there are more unexplained instances, like that of people lifting cars and trucks to free loved ones trapped beneath… the list goes on and on.

What if these acts we think are coming from outside of us are actually coming FROM WITHIN US. This would mean that our thoughts DO have a direct impact upon our physical reality and what we experience. What if the trick isn\’t simply believing it? What if the trick was going BEYOND believing and stepping into KNOWING?

It\’s just a thought. 🙂

Lucid Awareness Experience – November 1st, 2010

So, I had a mega long lucid dream early last night. Unfortunately, I can\’t really remember too much of it… I have a bunch of jumbled, seemingly random scenes playing out in my head right now that I\’m having trouble reconciling them.

I do remember having what I call \”Lucid Awareness\” throughout it, meaning that I didn\’t know much else beyond the fact that I was in the non-physical. So, unlike my previous conscious experience, in which I had \”Astral Awareness\” (aka, I was FULLY awake in the non physical), this experience wasn\’t quite there. This tells me that this entire experience took place in Focus 2, mostly because of all the dream imagery involved.

I do remember flying around a lot… and strangely enough, I remember blowing up buildings. I was demonstrating to the person who was with me by pointing to a building in the distance and splitting it in two. I\’ve tried to do this kind of thing in the past, but had very little success… I think it was good this time because I wasn\’t fully aware at the moment, so my subconscious was still semi in control of things. If I had Astral Awareness it probably wouldn\’t have been so easy. With that said, I also wouldn\’t have had some very strong dream imagery either… as my subconscious mind was still in full swing fueling my scene.

This entire experience felt like it took place over a good hour or so. I do remember slipping back into the physical roughly 3 times throughout this non-physical adventure. Each time I felt it was happening so I managed to keep my eyes shut as I woke, so it was quite easy to stay still and shift back to the non-physical within 10 – 15 seconds. I can\’t tell you enough how good this particular technique is to remaining in a non-physical environment.

And now that I\’m thinking about it… I was reading some more of John Magnus\’ book \”Astral Projection and the Nature of Reality\” right before bed… and I remember reading something about that very thing. I remember a point where he was saying to use an affirmation of, something along the lines of, being able to wake up slowly so that I could keep my eyes closed. I guess my mind decided that the best way to do that was to become lucid in the non-physical so it could initiate that \”eyes closed\” thing. This would account for the rare \”early night\” lucid dream that I had.

Anyway, the last thing I really remember was shifting back into the Lucid state then immediately entering a false awakening where I was riding my bike by some reservoir thinking to myself, \”Wow, what a strange lucid dream I just had\”… at that point I had shifted back into a Dream Awareness so I didn\’t realize I was STILL in the non physical. I find it funny that I didn\’t make the connection that I was JUST having a Lucid Dream, and now I was outside riding my bike… LoL

This was, quite possibly, the longest non-physical experience I\’ve ever had and considering that the longest up until this point was only about a month ago… I\’m left wondering what this means. We\’ll see what the future has in store. 🙂

What are Dreams?

I\’ve been answering questions lately regarding Dreams and I wanted to explain in slightly greater detail what I believe Dreams are. If you\’ve been reading my posts from the start you\’ll probably have a good idea of what I\’m about to say. So, let\’s get going!

First off, I\’ll say this… Dreams, as an objective experience, do not exist.  Dreams are NOT what we think they are.  They\’re not some random interplay of images and scenes that play out while we\’re asleep.  What we humans call a dream is one part of a much bigger \”non-physical whole\”.

So what is a Dream? A Dream is you being in the non-physical and being completely oblivious of that fact. You go about the environment as if you were wide awake and living your physical life. The environment is being fueled entirely by your own subconscious thoughts, desires, intentions, beliefs… everything.

Now, what\’s the difference between a remembered dream and a non-remembered dream? Well, obviously to remember a dream, you have to first experience it as it\’s happening. Or at least, this is the only way *I* can remember a dream (if anyone else has another method for how they experience and remember a dream, please do head over to my forums and share your insights). This requires a form of conscious awareness which I call \”Dream Awareness\”.

There is the thought that we dream every night of our lives, even if we don\’t remember it. I guess certain experiments using brainwave monitors have been used to figure this out. This means that we don\’t remember these dreams because we\’re simply not aware enough to remember them. We don\’t experience them as they\’re happening, so they don\’t get pushed into our memories. That begs the question are these memories lost or do we actually retain them after the fact?

I think that about covers it for a more in-depth look at my opinion on Dreams.

If you have any specific questions or a comment regarding this post, please do visit my forum and ask! I\’m always available there. 🙂

Classic OBE vs Phasing

I\’ve seen a lot of people get confused over what \”Phasing\” is in relation to what I refer to as the \”Classic OBE\”. In regards to where you end up, they\’re the same. Both types of projection will take you to the \”non-physical\”. The difference is in the sensations and methods for getting there. That\’s all.

When one has a \”Classic OBE\” they generally feel sensations of separation from their physical body along with the classic vibrations.
When one \”Phases\”, you generally don\’t get those sensations. You\’ll be Here, then you\’ll feel a shift (not a separation), and then you\’ll be \”There\” with your full waking awareness intact. In both cases, they lead to the same \”area of consciousness\”. You could end up somewhere familiar, like your bedroom… or somewhere not familiar, like some otherworldly environment.

I\’ll try to expand on this at a later time, but I hope it provides some kind of idea on the differences between the two phenomenon.

False Awakening – October 24, 2010

I really haven\’t found much to post lately… I have been trying though!   🙂
So I figured I\’d just post a really quick False Awakening I had this morning.

I initially woke up this morning at 7am… I thought I had to get up for work, but then I remembered that it was Sunday! That\’s probably one of the best feelings in the world… realizing that you don\’t really have to get up yet and can go back to sleep.

Anyway, I fell back asleep and woke up again… I looked at the clock and it said 11:30am. I thought, \”Wow, that\’s kinda late, I should probably get up…\”
I didn\’t get up and drifted back to sleep, which I woke up AGAIN and it was 9:30am. O_o That\’s when it hit me that the 2nd time I woke up, I really didn\’t wake up at all. I was in the non-physical with \”Dream Awareness\”.

For a quick description for those who might not have read my new designations, when you\’re \”dreaming\” (aka in the nonphysical) and you\’re simply going along with it, believing that you\’re fully awake, I call that having a \”Dream Awareness\”.

This is what a \’false awakening\’ is… you being in the nonphysical, but still going along with it as if you were fully awake.

Anyways, just thought I\’d relay this experience… it\’s not much, but it\’s something for now. 🙂

What is the Physical?

What follows is me just… thinking outloud.  🙂

I was reading more of John Magnus\’ book last night, \”Astral Projection and the Nature of Reality\” and I got to the part where he\’s explaining what he feels the \”Physical\” is.  He also has it posted on his facebook group page too.

It really got me thinking about the wider reality and how the physical is situated within that reality and all of the connective layers therein.

What if this physical reality is nothing more than just another \”astral environment\”.  Sure, this reality feels very solid, and it\’s very much more resistant to thought-changes, but in the end, this is just one large, collective astral environment created out of the energy of the nonphysical as a place to learn and experience.

In the near future, I predict that quantum mechanics or some other branch of science will end up figuring out that the base material that everything in this physical reality is comprised of is this astral/nonphysical energy.  Or, perhaps we could say… consciousness?

Then I got to asking myself what is the place that we dream, how does it connect and how do we enter this physical reality to begin with?  What is the nonphysical area of consciousness where we do our dreaming each night and where we \”astral\” project?  What if through this area we are connected to the collective consciousness area OUTSIDE of this physical reality.  Perhaps to exist within these physical bodies, we\’re required to kind of \’drill\’ our consciousness through the outside barrier connecting to these bodies using a \’tunnel\’ of sorts.  This tunnel is the \”astral\”… a thin strand of nonphysical reality that we pull into this physical reality that serves as a connection to the rest of the consciousness continuum.

What if we thought of the physical reality as being a balloon.  How would you place your consciousness within the balloon?  Well, there would be connecting points within the balloon already, we call them our \”bodies\”… then you would pierce your consciousness through the barrier of the balloon taking a small stream of nonphysical \”connective\” energy with you which would keep you linked to the collective consciousness.  You\’d drill further into the balloon until you came into contact with your \”body\”.

So then, once our physical bodies die… this strand of nonphysical \”connective\” energy would retract back to the astral, hence removing the \”dream\” area permanently.  We would have no need of this \”astral tunnel\” after the fact.  However, would it then be possible to perhaps, albeit temporarily, push our way through that barrier just to visit this physical reality as, say, what people would refer to as a \”ghost\”?

So, it makes sense to me that this entire physical reality is simply an astral construct.  A construct that is comprised of the base material of the nonphysical reality.  I mean, as we try to break down matter, we find that it\’s less and less dense the deeper we go.  How far down the rabbit hole does it go exactly?

Any of this make any sense?  🙂

Question regarding Birth Choice and Birth Defects

I had an interesting thought the other day as I was thinking about how we come into this world and how we choose certain aspects of this life.  I fully believe that we work out a \’basic\’ path for ourselves, but whether that path gets fulfilled or not is entirely upon our life choices WHILE we\’re here.

But then I got to thinking about people who are born with what we, humans, would call birth defects.  Some of these people, literally, can not care for themselves as they get older and require outside assistance.

My question is do we CHOOSE this kind of life for ourselves?  Or, upon entry to this physical reality, do we expect perfectly working physical bodies?
When we project, we have perfect forms.  Did we expect this to be in reverse when we came here?  Or, one could ask if there are imperfect nonphysical forms?

If we choose that kind of life for ourselves, then there must be some kind of value sought by your nonphysical consciousness.
However, if these defects are unwelcome by our nonphysical consciousness, then something PHYSICAL, here on this planet, is causing these defects and they go against our chosen path plan.

I\’m curious what other people think about this.

Are birth defects caused by choice or by physical environmental factors outside our nonphysical nature?

Morning Projection – October 11, 2010

I wanted to journal my experience I had this morning.

So, the first thing I remember was finding myself standing in a very beautiful grassy scene.  I had completely bypassed Lucid Awareness and apparently went straight to Astral Awareness.  I could see rolling, green hills for as far as the eye could see.  I remember looking up at the blue sky, and it was so very beautiful.  I just remember standing there for a few short seconds taking it all in.  The colours were absolutely brilliant.  I believe this was a Focus 3 oC area.

Standing around in this field were MANY people.  I didn\’t notice anyone wearing any strange clothing… they all seemed to be rather modern.  Some of them were standing off by themselves, others were standing in groups having conversations.

What I believe was a teenage girl came up to me and started talking.  I don\’t remember what the original conversation was, but I do remember asking her name in the hopes of getting some information about her that I could try to confirm when I returned to the physical.  Her name was Cardiff.  Unfortunately, I didn\’t get a last name or any other information regarding her…  I do remember \’chatting it up\’ with a few of the other people there, but I don\’t remember the details of them.  I remember one big burly fellow giving me a big hug… he seemed to know me, I dunno from where though.  All throughout these chats with people, I remember jumping up and flying around a bit.  I absolutely LOVE flying.  🙂

So anyways, around this time, I began to feel that I was dropping back into Lucid Awareness… because I was starting to see some Focus 2 oC environments overlay into my experiences.  I then began to feel myself wake up… the good thing here was that I woke up slow enough that I was able to keep myself still and my eyes closed, HOWEVER, I also had to go to the bathroom, which was probably the initial reason why I woke in the first place.  LoL

My initial goal this morning was to try Personalreality\’s new LD inducing sound file… but, since I didn\’t need it this morning, I skipped that.  I\’ll try it sometime this week or probably next weekend. 🙂

Inducing Lucid Dreams Using a Timer

So, in the same style as the Salt Cube timer people… I thought I\’d try my hand at making and perhaps improving their timer.

I created the following Wave file.
It\’s based around a base 3 minute system.  I give you 10 minutes at first, then break into the base 3 time system.

So after 10 minutes, you\’ll have alarms at 6 minutes, 3 minutes, 6 minutes, 9 minutes, 12 minutes, 15 minutes, 15 minutes and 6 minutes… total of 81 minutes.
I put a binaural beat in the background, very light, so you can just hear it.  For myself, the spike alarms to wake you at each of the above times didn\’t wake me as I\’m a heavy sleeper.
But I\’m hoping that other \”light\” sleepers might make better use of this.

Personalreality also created one using some premade timers, I\’m going to be trying this one out tomorrow morning, so I\’ll report what comes of those.
You can download his here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=32QLN3LO

I did have a very good dream awareness this morning.  So much so, that I was very surprised after I woke that I didn\’t realize I could have brought my Lucid awareness forth.  >_<
But anyway, I\’ll see how PR\’s works for me tomorrow!

John Magnus\’ Book and Message Forum

I said in a previous post that I finally ended up buying John Magnus\’ book \”Astral Projection and the Nature of Reality\” from my local occult bookshop.

His thoughts and ideas on Astral Projection are very similar, if not identical in most regards to my own.

He has made available to people a forum on his website (www.johnmagnus.com).  It might seem kind of dead over there right now, but John does apparently show up often to check out if anyone has posted.  So, in an effort to try and revitalize his forums and to assist in getting his message out to others, I\’ve added a link to them in my \”Astral Projection Forums\” section.

So head on over there and check it out.  Create an account… I found that you\’ll have to create the account, then do a password retrieval… THEN you can log in with the password emailed to you.  At which point you can go to your account page to change it to whatever you want.

Some of the old posts there are of big help too!  I\’ve been reading through them and learning a lot.  Personally, I\’ll be dropping in there every so often to see as well.  🙂

Personalreality\’s \”What is the Non-Physical\”

Personalreality, from the Astral Pulse, is writing a multi-part post on his personal blog, Shades of Consciousness, about \”What is the Non-Physical\”.

His first part is up already.  It\’s a great read, and I think everyone should take, at the very least, a quick glance over it.

I\’m looking forward to reading the rest of his posts in this series.

My New Consciousness Designations – “States of Mind”

I was dreaming this morning and I came to a realization after I awoke.  I realized that the term “Conscious awareness” just doesn’t work when using it to describe anything more than your awareness during a dream, or in any case, it makes it more confusing.  I need a phrase or phrases to make it easier for new people to learn the concepts and a catch all “Conscious Awareness” just doesn’t do that, because once you pass into Lucid Dreams and even further, Astral Projections, the term begins to fail.

We dream every night of our lives, yet we don’t remember all of them, why?  We have varying levels of consciousness through these dreams… everything from not remembering that a dream ever happened, to remembering bits and pieces of a dream, to remembering every last detail of the dream.

I was thinking about how we “remember” our dreams… and I realized that the dreams I remember most, are the ones in which I was most consciously aware in.  Not consciously aware in that I knew I was dreaming… but consciously aware that I was experiencing the dream AS it was happening.  I call this “Dream Awareness“.  Basically, I’m living the dream life as if I was awake and not realizing it’s a dream.  I am the actor not realizing he’s in a play.  This tends to give me the best chance to remember after I wake.

The next step up from that would be “Lucid Awareness“.  This is the point where you know you’re dreaming and you know that what is around you is a dreamscape.  You don’t have much more awareness than that though.

After that, I’d call it “Astral Awareness“.  At this point, you are as wide awake and aware as if you were awake in the physical reality… except you’re in the nonphysical.

Also, I believe that the line between Lucid Awareness and Astral Awareness can be very blurred.  Your awareness can float between that range at any one time during the experience.  You’ll start off with Lucid Awareness, then muster up Astral Awareness… after some time, you might lose focus and concentration and drop back down to Lucid Awareness.  You could shift back into Dream Awareness too.

For myself, I start off with Dream Awareness, then I’ll shift into Lucid Awareness… after that I’ll do my conversion to bring forth my Astral Awareness.  Generally what happens after some time in Astral Awareness is that I’ll just wake up.

So yeah, these are my new “States of Mind”.  Hopefully they’ll assist me in helping new members on the Pulse and other forums I frequent.

I guess you could say that this is the first thing I now disagree with Frank on!  🙂

Personalreality, from the Astral Pulse, wrote a nice reply to my post.
You can read it on his own personal blog, Shades of Consciousness.

Learn To Tell What Experience You\’re Having

To get you into the proper mindset in learning how to differentiate and interpret the many experiences (Dream, Lucid Dream, AP, OBE) one can have in the non-physical, I think the following statement sums it up nicely:

\”The difference is not in the nature of the reality but in the consciousness that observes/experiences it.\”

What I\’m saying here is that the nature of the reality you find yourself in (Dream, Lucid Dream, Astral Projection, Out of Body Experience, etc…) isn\’t defined by that reality.  It\’s actually the opposite.  You define the reality…  the nature of your experience is defined solely by your consciousness and how aware you are.

My Solution to \”Night Terrors\”

I was in my local occult bookshop the other day and I overheard one of the customers talking to the lady behind the counter asking about how to deal with night terrors.  She continued relaying her, of what I could only believe was her son\’s, experiences to the employee which included things like seeing people standing in his bedroom upon waking.

The store worker, in true pagan fashion dealt out a few of the usual \”cures\” that one would expect… a few particular crystals in a pouch under the pillow; smudging the room with sage (in a clockwise direction, apparently is best); and also shaking out the negative energy that the bed\’s mattress has collected.

Personally speaking, as someone who has suffered from this particular thing and has learned to live with it… I think those particular suggestions are quite silly.  But, really, I would suggest them to someone if they had tried everything else first, because in the end, if it works… then it works.  Who cares how silly it is right?

Well… now I find that I\’m kicking myself because I didn\’t speak up and offer some advice to this lady and her son.  I wasn\’t about to contradict the advice given by the lady behind the counter, but I also wanted to provide an alternative solution that maybe she didn\’t or wouldn\’t have normally considered.

My suggestion would have been this… I believe that what we see upon waking are the last remnants of our time in the non-physical (in this case, Focus 2 oC).  These last remnants are bleeding through into this physical reality (Focus 1 oC) as we wake up, since while our minds are \”Here\” when we wake, there is also a small part of our consciousness still \”There\” as well.  I\’ve come to call this a \”Focus Overlay\” experience.  Now, obviously, I wouldn\’t go into this kind of detail explaining to someone else I just met in a bookstore.  hehe  I would have said that the moment her son comes awake, part of his mind is still connected to the dream world… and that can sometimes slip through into his waking vision from time to time.

I would have suggested that he started a dream journal trying to identify and work through what the subject of the \”night terrors\” are.  Get at the root of the problem and not just attack the symptoms of them with \”crystals\” or \”smudging\”. Also, learning how to have lucid dreams in an effort to confront that which is terrorizing you is another great result of keeping a dream journal.

I mean, I should also probably be doing the same with my own particular \”hypnopompic visitor\”… LoL

On a side note, while I was there, I did pick up a book called \”Astral Projection and the Nature of Reality\”, by John Magnus, referred to me highly by Personalreality of the Astral Pulse forums… so far it\’s turning out to be a VERY good read. I find that his ideas of astral projection really resonate with my own. I\’ll have to write a review for it sometime soon after I finish it.  🙂

Our Other Bodies

Deus made a post on the Astral Viewers today asking an amazing question about what happens to our \”metaphyiscal\” bodies when we\’re no longer using them. I\’ll copy his post here:

So i had this idea swirling around my head for a while now. And i hope i won\’t sound totally insane for telling it. I will try to explain it the best i can.

So, what i was thinking is actually what happens to our \”metaphysical\” body when we stop dreaming, LD, AP and the sort. We can have the impression of being sucked in our physical bodies, or that we just simply wake up. I find it a bit hard to believe since our realities (RTZ and the other phases of perception) are somehow interlaced and don\’t have a pyramidal structure. And i don\’t believe anymore that we are \”getting out of the body\” but we simply switch our perception.

In my opinion we simply experience a form of death. Our metaphysical bodies dissolve and we come back to our primary reality i.e. the physical. Our physical bodies will dissolve/die one day too and our conciousness will permanently be transfered into a metaphysical body. So, the thing we percieve as awakening could be just the result of death. Only when we wake up from a dream we actually realise that we were dreaming all along (except from lucid dreams). I believe we temporarily \”project\” into another body which is destined to perish once we switch focus. And that will happen to us once we die.
We simply chage focus and this life will become a long and strange projection. What seems real now, will become the dream later.

I don\’t know, i just wanted to put it out in the open. I\’d love to know what you guys think about it.

It got me thinking about a post I made on the Astral Pulse regarding a question very similar.

Think of it this way… *You* can\’t die.
Each time you project Etherically, Astrally or whatever… you create a body to interact with the environment for that specific journey. You then focus your conscious awareness into that body and control it. <— SOUND FAMILIAR?

It\’s exactly how you operate here on the physical.
A body was created for you to interact with this physical environment.
Since this is your primary focus, you still need this body even if you switch your focus of awareness.

When you create a body for the etheric or astral… after you\’re done with that body, it\’s destroyed.
The same happens here. Once you\’re done with this physical body, it ceases to operate.

*IT* dies…
*YOU* do not.

Now that I\’ve actually put a bit more thought into it, I don\’t actually believe we have other \”bodies\” per se, what we experience when in the non-physical is just an expectation of a body.

What we \”see\” when we\’re focused into other realities is just a projection of our self-image. This \”image\” is completely a \”human\” need, it makes sense to our conscious mind that if we\’re \”somewhere\” we must have a \”body\” to be \”in\” (wow that was a lot of quotes LOL).  To expand on this, many people actually report that, as you spend more and more time \’out\’, you begin to slowly lose this \”human-self-image\” and begin to take on a more \”consciousness\” form… whatever that may be.

So, what happens to this \”human-self-image\” or \”consciousness\” form when you come back to your primary focus? Well… nothing.  Cause it never truly existed to begin with… yet, it also always exists too, because we exist across the entire consciousness continuum simultaneously.

I guess the question then becomes, does consciousness REQUIRE a vessel for which to work in a non-physical environment?
We know that we require a physical body to interact with this physical, Focus 1 oC reality… but I feel that\’s because of the particular \’physics\’ programmed into this reality.  In the non-physical, these physics do not exist…

I guess one could say that shifting/phasing your focus between realities is a \”form of death\”.  One could also say that \”dreaming\”, too, is a form of death we experience each and every time we fall asleep. The only difference between that and what we humans call \”death\” is that your primary focus will have shifted to another reality permanently.

Phasing Method – Don’t Open Your Eyes When You Wake

SpiritualShawn on the Astral Viewers posted an interesting question about keeping your eyes shut when you wake up to help you to project.

Ok so I want to practice waking up in the morning without opening my eyes or moving? How can I do this? It seems like in the mornings I usually find myself rolling around while waking up or my eyes are already open by the time I realize im awake.

I know If I wake myself up super early and induce a lucid dream I should be able to gently bring myself back to physical conscious (waking up) without moving much because I am already aware in the dream. Other than that I really don’t know how to go about doing this as after waking up in the morning would seem like a practical time for a conscious exit, (for me atleast).

Any tips?

I don’t have any direct tips, but it did remind me of the ONE time I managed to do this… and I’ll recount it here in hopes it has something that might help someone do the same.

So, the one time I managed to do this I was already in a lucid dream (the LD was me in this room full of toilets and urinals… I know, strange LOL) and I began to feel that usual feeling of ‘waking up’. My vision went to black and I felt the shift… I knew I was back in the physical, lying in my bed, and it happened so smoothly that I didn’t bother to open my eyes. I figured I’d go back to sleep, and within what felt like one minute I slipped back into my lucid dream at the exact point I had left, in the toilet-filled room. A couple minutes into this lucid dream, I, again, felt myself waking up… I kept my eyes closed for that waking as well.

I kept doing this over and over… four times, each time I woke up faster and faster. The fifth time, I got into the lucid dream and I immediately began waking up. I initiated my spinning thing to ground and keep myself within the lucid dream… but it didn’t work and had a secondary effect of causing me to have a classic OBE experience where I felt my arms float up and the rest of me follow.  I opened my eyes and I was floating down towards the foot of my bed.  This lasted about 10 seconds, when I came back to the physical.

So that’s the only experience I can remember where I managed to not open my eyes upon waking up.

Many times I’ve read stories of people doing this exact thing to project… well, all I can say is that it does work IF you can remember to not open your eyes when you wake.  For me, it was a matter of already being lucid in the dream and sensing when I was waking so I could prepare myself to do it.

Hopefully this helps someone.  🙂

My First Lucid Dream in Two Months

It\’s been a troubling two months, as I usually have a Lucid Dream once every 1 – 2 weeks.  Thankfully, last night I broke that dry spell and had a really great Lucid Dream!  My first  in over two months.  So I\’m quite happy.

At the time, I forgot to even attempt an Astral Projection from it, but it was a pretty nice AND long experience too.
This Lucid Dream lasted what felt like 20 – 30 minutes… and it went a little something like this:

I\’ll start off with the time before bed, I laid down on the couch around 12:30am to watch some TV while my girlfriend was playing some video games behind me, but I ended up falling asleep.  Anyways, 2:30am rolled around and we decided to hit the hay.  It was just starting to thunderstorm at the time and our dogs were going nuts, so we had to calm them down long enough for the storm to pass, which thankfully it did… but we left the light on anyways in the bedroom for them until they calmed down completely.

Unfortunately, we fell asleep before turning the light off… so I woke up in the middle of the night to go turn it off.  Little did I know this was a false awakening… and I woke up again seemingly a bit later and found the light was still on!  So I turned it off again, this time for real.  hehe

When I fell asleep this time, it was directly into a Lucid Dream… I knew I was dreaming and I strengthened it right away by spinning around quickly.  Apart from that, I forgot to do my Projection conversions. Afterwards, I ended up outside some woman\’s house,  she gave off a grandmotherly feeling,  next thing I remember she was teaching myself and others how to fly.  I was having some difficulty flying this time too… I remember jumping into the air hovering slightly, and then coming back down.  I was getting better though as the time went by.  This was a good 20 minutes of the experience.

I noticed some kid by the house making something with the sand, but he wasn\’t using his hands.  I walked up and asked what he was doing and he said he was… well, making stuff.  We talked for a second, but I don\’t remember what about, but at the end he showed me how to do it… I remember mentioning something Frank said about merging with the underlying structure of the environment to create stuff and the kid agreed with that.  It took me a few tries, but I finally managed to create a simple cube by waving my hand over the sand.  It was pretty neat.

Around this point I began to wake up, I didn\’t bother stopping it this time as I do remember wanting to write all this down so I didn\’t forget it all.  I woke up and began writing!  🙂

I have a strong feeling that due to the environment, the great conversation with the inhabitants doing the training and their very lifelike actions… I feel this was a Focus 3 oC training environment for me and others.  The extra strange bit is that I\’ve generally had very little problems flying, but I figure it had something to do with me not being 100% consciously aware at the time.  Who knows.

Pretty cool… I might try taking a bit of a nap a couple hours before bed from now on.  LoL  Especially if this will be the norm that comes of it.  🙂

Where is Frank Kepple?

So, once in a while I someone asks me where Frank went…

To be honest, I really don\’t know.  I\’d personally love for him to still be alive, but personally, I think he\’s not with us anymore in this physical reality.
Before his disappearance he was complaining of health troubles.

Apart from that, I don\’t know what happened.

I just wanted to put that out there.  🙂

Lunchtime Meditation – Sept 17, 2010

I meditated a bit at lunchtime today during which I had an epiphany that I would like to share.

My goal in mind was my usual, I wanted to try to passively observe myself falling asleep so I can learn to catch it.
I had a thought earlier in the day, and I realized that I just wasn\’t keeping my mind active enough while falling asleep… I don\’t know why I never really thought about it before, but it just kind of hit me hard at that point and finally sunk in.

I began my meditation around 12:40pm… sitting at my desk, back straight in my chair, my feet flat on the floor and my arms resting naturally on my desk. After a few minutes, as I started to relax, I\’d notice my upper body falling forward slightly. This is my sign that my body is relaxing enough and is falling asleep. Points would come when I\’d realize that my head is almost touching my desk due to falling forward so much. I\’d straighten up and refocus. This happened twice.

After the second time, I thought to myself, \”Hmmm, I need to get my mind more active\” and I decided to engage my mind more by starting a rundown. I chose a location nearby, down at the lakefront on Lake Ontario. It\’s a cliff that overlooks the lake and beach. i visualized myself standing around up there watching the lake and the waves beat up against the sandy beach… and I still found myself drifting off a bit, it was much better than before in that I was able to catch it happening… so that\’s definitely progress!

I decided to increase the activity a bit… and I got to thinking about Astral Pulse Island. I wanted to incorporate that into my rundown somehow… so I looked out at the water and decided to take a jaunt out there to see what I could/would find on the Lake!

I floated off the cliff, down to the beach below where I had a boat waiting for me. I jumped in an started paddling out into the open water. What happened next wasn\’t part of my script, nor could I control it. I had gone out only a few seconds when the boat started tipping! It would tip left and right, then it went upside down, and righted itself… it just kept doing it. It felt like I was in a tumble dryer. I tried as hard as I could to control it, but once it started, it was very hard to stop it.

I decided to jump out of the boat and swim back to shore. This stopped the \”tumble dryer\” action from happening, thankfully. I floated back up to the initial cliff I was on before and just started walking instead. At which point, someone called me and I had to go do some \”office stuff\”. >_<

So that was a pretty random experience for me, and I\’m hoping to be able to duplicate it the next time I meditate at home or practice my Phasing. I think I was pretty close to stepping into the rundown though, it started to have a real feeling to it. The tumbling was definitely real, I FELT it as if I was actually there.  This all ended around 25 minutes later.

Anyways, I just wanted to share that. 🙂
